I recently took my first trip to New Orleans to experience the food, the culture, and the Jay & Bey On The Run Tour. It was a lovely weekend getaway. I explored the Louisiana days, and the bright lights of Bourbon Street. What an adventure we had in just 3 little days. The quest was to find good food, and live in those moments. We had previously gathered a list from friends of must go food spots while on our journey.
One of our greatest companions was of Yelp. We wanted to dine smartly, but also weren’t afraid to take risk. First stop on food, was very indecisive. We were already on Bourbon Street and had no idea what to try first. There was so much life and energy among us. We were overwhelmed with decisions. So after walking back and forth for minutes, we finally decided to head off the strip and head to a spot that had nice reviews and wasn’t far from the action.
For starters it was my first time having Chargrilled Oysters with lemon. The first entree was the “Tour of New Orleans” which included Sausage Jambalaya, Andouille Sausage with Gumbo, and Shrimp étouffée with a side of bread. Second entree was a Golden shrimp platter. And I must say the shrimp were so fresh and hot. I really enjoyed each dish. From the garlic butter of the Oysters, to the Shrimp étouffée, to the fresh shrimp was amazing. It was definitely a great start to the journey.~BLA
